Greenwash Of The Week: Huggies Pure & Natural.
Um, yea…this is a whopper of a Greenwash of the Week, as you will soon find out. Huggies has just introduced a diaper they are calling “Pure & Natural”, featuring natural ingredients. What are the natural ingredients in this diaper? Some organic cotton that is included on the OUTSIDE of the diaper (which A. never gets touched by the baby and B. just gets thrown into a landfill). Yep, that’s it. That’s the entire “Pure & Natural” part of this new greenwashing diaper. The website is does have green coloring on it, so maybe that’s part of the “natural” too, but I don’t see anything else. But then again, Huggies is owned by Kimberly-Clark, so this should all come as no surprise.

Know what’s really Pure & Natural, Huggies? Organic cotton cloth diapers, not plastic ones with a tiny amount of wasted organic cotton on the outside.
